Italia: Last Days

Wed May 11:
I'm done with all of my finals!!! To celebrate, Jared and I went out to dinner for one last time, just us two. I tried a new pasta: ravioli with pecorino cheese and pears. It's tied with the best meal I've had here!! I can't even describe how amazing it was!! The restaurant we ate at was one near school that looked so pretty and I wanted to go there since I first arrived so I'm happy I got to go there.
Thurs May 12:
Today I had to pack everything up. It actually only took me about 45mins to an hour which surprised me!!! This time I knew exactly what I needed to bring back so it was much easier packing to leave vs packing to come over here. Packing was bitter sweet for me as is leaving. I kept thinking about when Kelsey first arrived and looked around the apartment all excited and how we made a bare room into a homey room. And now it's bare again. After packing, Kari and I went for a walk and I bought an University of Firenze shirt! So it's official and I'm super excited to wear it back in the states! I'm wearing it on the plane today (it's 1am right now) because it's comfy! At 7pm, Kari, Jared and I climbed all the way up to the Piazza di Michelangelo to watch the sunset. The three of us shared a bottle of wine and took pics of the amazing view! Look for the pics on photobucket soon! After that we went back to the same restaurant as yesterday and Kari, Jared and I all had the pasta I had. They loved it as well! I was supposed to go out with everyone but those plans fell through. I was ok with that though because I was so stuffed from dinner and tired from my week I was happy to just go to bed.

Fri May 13:
Today was sad saying goodbye to all of the friends I've made here. Lots of hugs and kisses on the cheek were given out. It's sad to know that most of these people I'll never see again. The ones closest to me however, we'll make a point to see each other. I'm happy to say I haven't cried yet. I'm saving the tears for tomorrow. Today Kelsey and I cleaned the apartment and went to lunch at I'Grullo. We ate lunch here the very first day we arrived in Italy and today we ate lunch on our very last day. Bitter sweet. Later, Jared and I walked around Italy to see the sights one last time. We bought postcards of Firenze so memories of where we've lived for the past 4 months. We also saw the Ponte Vecchio and bought chocolate at the Lindt store!! On our walk, Jared thought it'd be nice if we took a horse drawn carriage around the city. It was super sweet and made me very happy! We were able to see Santa Croce and the Duomo from the carriage. This is a memory I will have forever and it made my last day in Italy perfect :) After that, myself, Jared, his roommate Matt, Kari, Kelsey, Diana, Alyssa, and our other friends Jess and Jami all went out for one last authentic Italian dinner. It was also good. Kelsey and I hung out at Jared and Matt's for a bit where I got to say goodbye to all of his roommates that I've gotten to know. Today was definitely a perfect last day in Italy.

I want to thank everyone for reading my blogs, and supporting me on this wonderful adventure. Without you guys, I'd be a mess! You've picked me up when I needed it and have never let me down. <3 I especially want to thank my mom and dad, Bailey and Katie who were my rocks back home. I love you all. Though this will be my last post in Italy, check back next week because I'm sure I'll have a little bit more to say about my trip home and everything that I forgot about the States.

For the final time in Italia,
Ciao

PS look for pics for the past few days soon!
