Pisa/Lucca and more trips!

So last Sunday Jared and I went on a day trip to Pisa and Lucca. No one else could go so it ended up being us two. It was a very nice day and it was so beautiful out! Jared and I took a 12:30 train to Pisa. This was my third time going and Jared's first so I was happy to go so he could see it. After walking to the tower (which by the way mom we didn't use a map and it only took us 30 mins to get there lol) we found a nice restaurant to eat lunch at. Jared and I agreed that it would be nice to actually sit down at a quaint restaurant and eat instead of buying grab and go food like most college students do. We ended up eating outside and this nicely priced restaurant right near the tower. We shared a bottle of wine, had bread and I had a delicious spaghetti carbonara with bacon and eggs pasta. It's better than it sounds! After my pasta that only cost about 6.50 Euros, I was pretty full, but you know me, there is always room for dessert so we shared one! Jared had tortellini with meat sauce. It was a nice relaxing lunch and I loved people watching! The only downside is that the wait staff wasn't so attentive. But that's the difference from the states and Italy. The wait staff anywhere isn't as attentive as in the states. After lunch, Jared posed to hold up the tower. That's just something you have to do when you visit Pisa.
After Pisa, we got back onto the train to head to Lucca. We had no idea what was in Lucca and we heard there wasn't much, but when would I ever go again? If the opportunity is there, you might as well go! Jared and I ended up laying in the sun on top of this cliff in Lucca. It was so nice and the sun felt so good! After we walked around the town, saw an outdoor mass, and came upon this cute little bridge that reminded me of Venice to I had to take pics! There are pics posted in my Italia album on photo bucket! At the bridge there was a momma duck and some babies! So adorable! After that pic though my camera died. Jared and I also came upon a market that sold random items. It was nice to just walk and look. I saw a lot of cute tops but I didn't want to buy any. I'd rather try them on and you can't do that in a market! After the market, I grabbed some gelato. I have no idea what the two flavors were but man they were one of the best I've had! And the gelato was cheap in Lucca! Sadly somehow while in the market, I lost the scarf mom and I bought together in Pisa. I was so upset I could have cried! I'm sorry mommy. I didn't know I lost it until after I had my gelato so it was gone for good. After that, Jared and I boarded a train back to Florence. It was getting late and we didn't get back to Florence until about 9pm. Once back, Jared and I got a kepab (kebab) and called it a night. I was so tired that I slept until almost noon the next day!
Today, Kari and I booked two trips for this weekend. One to go to Chianti for wine and olive oil tasting on Saturday, and another to go to Verona on Sunday. The two trips together were really cheap and I'm super excited to go! This will sadly be the last weekend trip I go on before I board a plane back to that states and end my vacation in Italy. Before I leave however, I do plan on going to the academia to see the statue of David and to Boboli garden which is supposed to be beautiful! Also, Kari and I will be going to Cinque Terra and possibly Milan. I know there isn't much to see in Milan unless you want to shop so I'm going to see if there is a place we can go zip lining instead. Zip lining is on my bucket list to do so I might as well do it in Europe! We'll see if I can make that happen!
On top of traveling, I have applied for 2 internships during my fall semester and hopefully I get one! I have to wait and see what I hear from them. I did not get an internship for the summer at CSFI (Culver's) but the director of the PR department will have some projects for me to work on over the summer so I'm excited about that! I really am excited to see what my near future will bring! I'm so close to starting my adult life! And hopefully if I do well at my internship in the fall, maybe they will hire me full time after I graduate! They are also located in GB so it'd be a dream come true! I'm getting the job part of my future figured out so all that will be left is find an apt and a decent guy to date! Slowly but surely I will get there! For now, I'm just going to enjoy my last few weeks in Italy. Oh and write two 8page papers and take 5 finals but I'm just not going to think about that lol. Sadly though, if I want to travel, I have to get my papers done so back to work I go!

Ciao!
