Productive Day and It's Not Even Over!

So this morning Kari and I woke up early and decided to finally visit the Accedemia! This is the museum that has the famous Statue of David! Let me just say it was awesome!! The detail was outstanding! You could see the veins in his hands and everything! PS if David was a real life man, almost every girl would look at him and say "YUM!!" and not bc he's naked, but because he is so muscular! I'm in love lol. Michael Angelo sculpted the David but he also sculpted the Slaves. These are sculptures that Michael Angelo never finished and they look like they're coming out of the marble. Michael Angelo is famous for saying "Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it." I bought postcards of each 6 slaves and one of the David and a magnet of the David and one more postcard of The Rape of the Sabine Women. I'll be making a photo collage of all of the postcards I've bought of all of the places I've visited since arriving and the 8 postcards I bought today will be my centerpiece :) I'm super excited to make this once I'm back!

After the Accademia, Kari and I decided to climb the top of the Duomo. The view was AMAZING!!! We got to see all of the places we've visited and even the streets we live on. It was a great experience! I think everyone should visit the top of the Duomo if they visit Florence. It cost only 8 Euros but go early bc the line is loooooooooooooooong! That being said, I've done it once and I'm good lol. There are so many stairs! I thought the stairs to my apt was bad! That's nothing compared to what we climbed. However, it was totally worth it!! Kari and I also stopped at the Lindt store by the Duomo and I got a chocolate Easter bunny 50% off so it was only 3 Euros! And it's a big bunny too! I most likely will go back and buy more lol.

After that, Kari and I went shopping at Billa (a grocery store by her apt) for some food we're going to cook together for dinner, and we grabbed a Kebap for lunch. After lunch, we decided to do some light shopping. Kari bought a wallet for her dad and 3 scarves and I bought 2. There was a deal 5 scarves for 20 Euros so we did that!

Now I'm chilling at her apt for a while. We're going to make baked chicken and spaghetti with garlic bread for dinner with white wine. Yum! And after this post, I will continue writing my last 8 page paper! I can't wait to be done with it! I won't finish it tonight, but I'm hoping to get 1-2 pages done. Writing this paper is going to be a long process and why is too complicated to write. Just trust me it will be challenging. I have one page done already so if I get 1-2 more typed tonight, I'll be almost half way done! It's not due for another 2 weeks but still I want to get a start on it sooner than later. Especially since its 8 pages!
