Massimo

Today was a pretty good day. It was beautiful out and I got to wear a short sleeved shirt and my leather jacket! I also got quite a bit done. Laundry, grocery shopping, went for a walk around Florence with Kari, did some homework, and fixed my shower. The best part about my day however was getting a package and 2 cards from mom and dad!! The package consisted of a few items I needed and the CUTEST little giraffe ever!!

Why the giraffe? Dad used to send me an email my freshmen year with a giraffe "talking" in it and wishing me a good day. I loved that e-mail more than anything because it was funny and dad sent it to me every week. This isn't something I'd usually expect from my dad just because he's not usually that type of person. So when I got these e-mails every week, I had the biggest smile on my face and felt so loved by my daddy. I am his little girl after all. Sadly though, the e-mail ended up getting deleted or lost during my sophomore year of college. Both dad and I were very bummed about this. It was our little thing that made both of us laugh even though I was 2.5 hrs away.

So mom and dad sent me the giraffe in memory of that e-mail. And they couldn't have chosen a better gift. I love my little guy. I wanted to name him (because I'm still a child at heart, and I will admit this and be a-ok with it) but I wasn't sure what to name him. So I figured an Italian name would be fitting since he was given to me while I'm in Italia. So after some research, I picked the name Massimo meaning "the greatest." This little gift made my day and he is one of the greatest gifts I've never asked for. Thank you mom and dad for my little gift from home and my new cuddle buddy. He really is the greatest :)

Now Massimo and I are off to bed. I'm going ballroom dancing ALL day tomorrow and am so excited about it! But I have to be up early and it's already 1:30AM.
