This weekend has been pretty good considering it's the weekend before midterms and studying has taken over everyone's lives. Last night Kelsey and I decided to go out to a bar and some dance clubs. I invited my new friend Jared out with us. Jared is in two of my classes and we hit it off last wed when we striked up a convo about religion. It was civil and interesting. I love having convos about taboo topics. As long as both parties can be open-minded and civil, there isn't ever an issue. Kelsey and I went to a bar called Viktoria's and ended up running into some other people we know, some Americans and some Italians. We also met some other guys at the bar. Turns out some were Italian, some French, and one from the UK. It was great talking to them and just getting to know more people while Kelsey and I waited for Jared and his friend to show up. I also got to practice my French on the French guy. I didn't do too bad for not speaking it for the past 3 years!
Once Jared did, we all went dancing. That was fun! Being the ballroom girl I am, I taught Jared the hustle. lol. You can take the girl out of ballroom but you can't take the ballroom out of the girl. It was a really good night and a nice surprise I actually made friends with a guy outside of class. Most of the friends I have are just friends in class and not people I hang out with outside of class. Also, it's just nice having an American friend. Italians are confusing, sometimes creepy, and the language barrier is sometimes tough.
Tonight I was supposed to talk to my Grandma M. I had a nice little surprise when I turned on my webcam and there Jakob and Jocelyn sat!! I love talking to them! Jocelyn was such a cutie blowing me kisses and sending hugs. And it was fun playing games with Jakob online! I did also get to talk to my grandma and mom and dad sum. Talking to them really made my night. Especially talking to Jakob and Jocelyn since I haven't seen them in a very long time!
This weekend was all about little surprises; whether they were planned or not. Meeting new people, making new friends and seeing two adorable kids: I'd call this weekend a nice one! J
