As of last Wednesday night at about 7:30pm, my spring break began! I think I did well on all of my mid terms. Some things I didn't know but I felt like I knew enough to get me a B. I'll take a B :) Hopefully I do as well as I feel I did. Jared and I both have War and Media together so after our midterm, we grabbed some gelato and hung out at my place and talked. I also introduced him more into the country music world. I don't think I've converted him, but he didn't hate all of the songs....at least that's impression he gave off. lol.
Yesterday, Kelsey decided that I needed to look more European and get some leggings and shirts to wear with them. Most of the shirts I have are too short to wear with just leggings. So Kelsey, Alyssa, myself and poor Jared went shopping lol. Actually he asked if I wanted to hang out and willing came along when I told him my plans so I can't feel too bad. I bought a pair of black leggings, and cute black and white striped top, and an orange-peach colored dress. I love this dress! It was a little expensive, but there won't be anything like it in the States, plus I can wear it with jeans, leggings, or by itself. I call that a good deal. And it looks great on me :)
Kelsey and Alyssa had to go home and pack for their spring break trip to Greece so Jared and I ended up hanging out and talking again. Jared is from New Jersey and some of the expressions, food, and activities I know, he's never heard of. I had to explain cheese curds and disc golf to him. And he laughed when I used the word pick em up truck. Actually I was being silly when I used the word too but it was still funny he's never heard of it. This is what you get when you put a country girl and a city boy together. New words and phrases lol. Jared is also Jewish and so he let me ask a million and a half questions about his religion. I love learning about new things and I've always been interested in the Jewish religion just like I'm interested in learning about other religions. I get to compare and contrast their religion with what I believe in. It was a good day. Jared is a good guy and we have a lot in common. It's nice to actually have a guy to talk to over here! I missed talking to guys and their laid back attitude. It's nice to get away from all of the estrogen for a little while.
Yesterday was also the 150th birthday of Italy!!! There have been flags, banners, and I even saw a little parade the other day in celebration of it. And as if our street isn't loud enough at night, add a national holiday and St. Patty's day in the mix and you get the loudest I've ever heard my street!!! It's a good thing I'm able to sleep in otherwise I'd be a mess!! Today, I'm getting things ready for mom to come and visit and also starting my 3-4 pg review I have to write for journalism. I'm reviewing Niko's restaurant so I'm stopping by at 3 with my laptop to observe and write. Should be a good time. I'm also going to try and attempt to finish my Culver's scholarship today. Otherwise I'll be doing it tomorrow along with finishing up my review. I don't want things hanging over me when mom gets here. It's mommy daughter time! I will not have anything interrupt that! lol.
I have a feeling this spring break will be a good one. I'm in Italy, mom is coming, and I have a lot of time to relax. And though all of my roomies and Kari and Alyssa are gone and I'm alone until Monday when mom arrives, I do have Jared to hang out with! Looks like I met him at a good time! I won't be lonely at least!
Ciao Tutti (bye everyone)
